What are you up to today?
Today I'm shopping. My mom's working, so I come in with her and go shopping while she works.
What's your current occupation?
Right now, I'm a student and I work at Nordstrom in sales while I'm home.
Where are your favorite places to hang out in the area?
I love the Nordstrom center. I love getting a bite to eat and looking out over the city [at] the top of the restaurant. I also love going to Union Square at the cafe in the middle [to] hang out and people-watch. That's always a thing to do here!
What are you currently studying?
Business marketing. I'm looking to go into retail, and Nordstrom is definitely working right now, but later I'd like to get into the management side.
What are some of your favorite things about being in the Bay Area?
I love the atmosphere, how everyone is different, and [that] there's always something to do. It's just a good scene.
Is there anything that's caught your interest recently?
Definitely the whole music festival craze. I see it in Nordstrom — our customer want[s] to look like that festival girl. We have a specific customer that comes in for that whole look. You don't even have to be going to a music festival, but that is, like, THE summer look. Everyone wants to have printed pants, or high-waisted shorts and lace crop top.
What's a recent challenge that you've hurdled?
Being in college. It's definitely harder than high school. I moved away from home; being on my own in a different state was a big hurdle. Also, finding a new friend group, new jobs, all that kind of stuff — so yeah, starting over.
Where did you travel?
I'm going to Arizona State. I traveled out of state and came back for the summer to work and be with family.
I also wanted to ask you about your personal style — tell me about what you're wearing today!
Well today was a relaxed, casual day, so I'll have my Birkenstocks and my boyfriend jeans. Right now Brandy Melville is big, so a Brandy Melville shirt or sweater. It's usually something that's really trendy, but wearable on other seasons or trends. It's not specific. I also love wearing dresses, and it's a Free People kind of style. I like to accessorize but not too heavy.
